Just put in that 86 point cage, good for 5.50's. Come on over here, we'll convince you.

You can take a running jump to get into the car.

Thats the truth about running jump, my GTOs got an 8 point in it and its worse then a jungle gym!

Hehe, I bet you know exactly what I'm going to say as well...

Ya know, I hated to do it myself, but I don't regret it. 8pt. with swingouts is great, just unbolt the swingouts for the street and it's hardly any different getting in and out. Besides, you (like me) seemed to have a desire to keep your racing legal. If you get the times you deserve with that car, you'll need a cage/bar if you want to keep racing legally.

FYI, my insurance company knows nothing, and they'd probably drop us if they did.

Talking ghjmg

My dad's pretty good friends with our local AAA person since they're almost nextdoor to our company but I did hear her on the phone say, "No we can't insure a race car even if it has a rollbar", to a customer she was talking with. My car was just outside the window Since then I haven't taken it there with the top down put it that way The harnesses also. When they inspected my car when I first got it they made sure it had working seatbelts, etc so that might be a problem somehow.

Hopefully they dont ask to "see the car" all of a sudden. Ah well Goodnight fellas.

HInk,
Safety not money is the major concern.....however I worry about reducing the value of the car to nill.
I would stop racing before I put myself in danger. My family has
their concerns regarding my safety known
You make a good point refering to the magic number's I wonder
why 11.99/11.49 are the cutoff? I also respect your restraint
in not ripping her open to see what it'll do.
I appeal to my peers/friends/ and fellow speed junkies
for advice.....I look at it this way
1. Either the car is almost done or
2. Were just getting warmed up

Roman,
Didn't you tell me a couple of weeks ago this was going to happen? You Canuck's must be a bad influence.

Dale,
Dana's birthday party is Saturday....how's you Sunday look?
Would appreciate your help if your not booked. Bring Craig (with his car) with you.

Jim,
Would love to see your cage ....you gonna be around this weekend? Maybe the 50's mick d's Friday night?

Denny,
Youv'e been pretty mum on what your doing this year.....
got a can of whoop azz to pull out for the nationals?

Pretty sure 8 point is the way to go. Any pics or reccomendations
on where to go would be appreciated.

Thanks for the input guys.
Kevin

I was just suggesting you consult with your insurance company as a CYA sort of thing. You get in an accident, someone dies and they prove you modified your car for speed/acceleration your policy is null and void. Then it's open season on your *** and you'll be lucky if you come out with the clothes on your back.

Kevin,

Go get the cage.

Why do you need to look around? Isn't our stuff good enough for you?

I would love to make it to the 50's McD's on Friday, unfortunately I currently have 1 seat, no console, and no steering wheel in the car. I am putting on a custom wheel and need to modify the adapter, and I'm outta town until Friday afternoon, so I doubt I'll have it ready to drive by Fri night. If you are really desperate to see it, you can always come by my house and check it out. I'm in Plymouth, so not toooo far away. My schedule is scattered though, but I'm sure I could fit you in if you wanted. If nothing else, I can get pics of it when I get home on Friday. Oh yeah, and just suck it in and get the 8. Also, I had it tied into the subframe connectors and damn this car is stiff. Good luck with your decision.
