Blew a hole in the header on my last M7 run:
About the size of my thumb. I didn't even know it, because the exhaust was so loud, but after I put the mufflers back on, I noticed it. Someone said they picked something up at half track.
I still ran a 10.8xx
I found a Mountain Dew can, and cut it up, folded it a few times, and searched the pits for a clamp, and patched it up for the ride home. Sorry for being late to the picnic.
It seems the AIR fitting that is welded to the header just blew right from the header, welds & all!! I have never seen this happen. Can you post that pic Steve?

The guy running the tree hopped on his ATV and picked it up at the 1/8 mile marker(good eye),at the time I did not know it had come off your car or I would have got it back for you.
I though it was just debris.

Glad you got it back together. I got into the staging lanes and when I came back you were gone. I think you can just get that welded shut pretty easily. It'll screw up the look of the ceramic coating, but oh well. I also have a few of your runs on video. I'll e-mail them to you.
The technical term for why the weld and tube came out is called a cold weld failure. Happens when the heat affected zone of the weld has cold adhesion. It fails over time. Funny that it just blew it off like that though. I wonder if it left a mark in your hood! Certainly shows that running the juice adds a lot of exhaust pressure to the cars!
