Post First #'s with my 94 A4 stock Z...is something wrong?

Well, like the subject says I think something may be wrong with the car. I'm seeing people posting #'s here that are great but I did not see near those numbers tonight with a stock car. So, I think something is wrong with the car or driver (both?). Take a look at the numbers and critique/flame/bash away so I can learn from this. At the end i'm going to note some of the things pointed out to me by a buddy who was with me and runs an 11 sec Z. Thanks:
1st run:
60ft:2.207 330ft:6.325 1/8 ET:9.711 1/8 MPH:72.71 1000' ET:12.566 1/4 ET:15.037@92.61
2nd run:
60ft:2.210 330ft:6.327 1/8ET:9.706 1/8MPH:72.93 1000'ET:12.543 1/4ET:14.997@93.17
3rd run:
60ft:2.314 330ft:6.483 1/8ET:9.891 1/8MPH:71.99 1000'ET:12.781 1/4ET:15.279@91.24
Found out that I had 30psi in fronts 21psi/right rear 30psi/left rear
87 octane gas(oops, I know now premium only)

Is something wrong or did the tires and gas cause some problems? Blast away

You might wanna look under the hood and make sure you weren't tricked into buying a v6. jp. unless you are at a seriously high altitude something is definately wrong with the car. Your mph indicates that you are missing alot of hp.

I doubt it's altitude, I'm in NE Ohio. I think something is wrong as well but the car doesn't surge or anything. I'm at a loss unless the tires and gas were holding the car back somehow. The low MPH worries me.

Could the low octane gas mess with the knock module? And then cause the timing to be turned back or something? Also, my tires were awfully low. 20 psi in the right rear, was I "dragging" this tire around? Max psi on my Dunlop sp 5000 is 51. Pretty low.

its not the tire pressure.I run only 14 psi in my et streets and I only lose 1 mph in my traps from 30 psi in street tires.
but it definatly could be timing retard

It could be many things. You need to get it checked out/scanned rather than have us throw out a bunch of guesses. I had a similar problem and it was my fuel pump, but you need to find out for sure.

That 87 octane for sure did you in. When the computer detects just so much knock it changes to a low octane timing table that kills off a bunch of horsepower.
Run a couple of tanks of good highest octane unleaded you can find thru it then take it back to the track.
I'd put the back tires at 25-27lbs for street radials and pump the fronts up to 40lbs.
Have fun.

When was the last time a basic tuneup was done on the car. Simple stuff, plugs, wires, filters... The car should be in the upper 90's with stock exhaust manifolds. The low octane gas could certainly affect the car as well, but check the basic stuff too as the speed is waaaaay off. Your sixty foots are pretty bad too, but there has to be something more than a simple loss of traction that is slowing you down. A slipping tranny could also cause this type of problem...

Thanks for the help. The tuneup was just done 2 weeks ago. New opti, water pump, plugs, and wires. I just bought the car and the Opti was bad so I took it back to the dealership and they replaced the parts listed above. Time to get some gas and head back to the track.

There can be lot's of things or nothing at all wrong with your car. What was the MPH of other cars? Bad weather can make a big difference, there were some day when I was trapping 102-103's and my friends lightly modded LT1's were in the 93-95mph range and LS1's having a hard time breaking 100. Too many variables; heat, humidity, baro., elevation, wind.
the best way to really test it is race another auto Z28 and see where you stand, you can't really trust the track times. As for your times, they all match up from 60 to 1/8 to 1/4 and MPH's, so IF you are down on power it's throughout the power band. If anything your car pulls just pinch above normal in the topend (or your low end is slightly below normal, pick whichever) but both still in the normal range.
