Will need OBDII tuning...

Anyone in the Bucks County area that does a decent OBDII tuning on the 97 TA after I get the headers installed? I'm just south of Doylestown, Pa.

Re: Will need OBDII tuning...

Thanks, naryldude... but I am kind of looking at some truly "local" as the car needs to be done at idle, part throttle and WOT for the optimium tuning since each car has it's own "personality".

I used MadZ28 last year when the gears were changed. Can he do a tune that works without having the car at hand? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was told otherwise.

"myslowcamaro"; I sent an email to Dale at the dyno we were at last week to see what he says.

Re: Will need OBDII tuning...

I have an email to the guy, Dale, that ran the dyno which was setup by "myslowcamaro". When I get an answer, I'll post on here. Maybe we can work something out for a few of us to get tuning and a dyno at the same time. Dunno. But I will let ya'll know as I get info back and maybe we can figure something out that can benefit us all at once.

Ron, I purchased LT1 edit and let Mikey do the dyno tune. www.rapidmotorsports.com 610-404-7979. Its a little drive for you to my neck of the woods. I picked up .5 with long tube headers.

Re: Will need OBDII tuning...

What happen to the days when my only confusion was figuring out how much air pressure to leave in the stock tires when I was at the track....

So I go to this place: OBD-II PCM Expert Editor and get the one "locked to one PCM" for $450. Then I have everything I need to play, correct? I have an older Win95 laptop that I can put Win98SE on... that I can do without a thought process.

So then once I have the editing software I head up to Rapid Motorsports? I use all back roads to get to Royersford rt422 exit in forty some minutes. I figure another 20 mins from there north to Rapid. There is the possibility that there may be someone more local for me that can do the tuning, but I'm guessing that I'll still need the software to make it easy.

I have MAC mids on order. It'll definitely improve my time some what, but by how much remains to be seen. I'm working for the low 13'5's. Then I'll be happy. Yep, once I get the car to 13.3's I won't do anymore mods. Really, I don't want to go any faster then 13.1's. Nope, 12.9 is all I need....

I'm considering to slow my car down a bit to run a 12.0 index. Ron if you deside to use Rapid please be sure to call for an appointment.
When I got my LT1 edit I had to buy an additional cable for about $100.

Have you talked to Bill Hunsberger at Second Street Speed in Perkasie (certainly close to Doylestown)? In the past, the didn't tune stock PCM's (authorized tuners for Accel/DFI, FAST, MoTeC, Haltech, and Electromotive), but someone told me they are now doing stock tunes with LT1_Edit. Might be worth a phone call. They do all my tuning.

Hey thanks, Fred. That's right up the street in Pennsyl-tuckey talk. I just straight up rt152 and voila... I'm there. I'll give them a buzz in a few weeks as it's going to take me a month or two before I can do the install. Something about the cash flow and The Carol not being happy of me celebrating Christmas all year long...
