Which tracks allow cut outs?

I had my single cat removed and installed a 3" cut out/ORP in its place and I want to try it out at the track but wasn't sure which ones allow it. I know it would probably be too loud for E-town but does anyone know if the Grove or Cecil allows them? Didn't see anything on their sites about them. Thanks.

Greg, friday nights at the Grove are for mufflers only. You will be required to run Heavy in the brackets. Trophy and street require a closed exhaust . Heavy cost is $42. Usually on Saturdays you will get 2 time trials and then eliminations. On Sunday look for only 1 time shot and eliminations. Check E-town for "noise" nights. Also check the web sites for ATCO and Cecil. Check the "rules" for classes, etc. I'm guessing that ATCO and Cecil are more flexable about noise.

E-town will let you run open exhaust on wednesday nights and Sunday. On Sunday you'd have to enter a bracket class. Wednesday is test and tune. You can run open exhaust at Atco on friday, not sure about the other days, I think weekends are ok too. I don't think Cecil has noise rules at all. Cecil is the fastest track in the area, if that matters.

The two tracks I hit the most are the Grove and Cecil, I usually only get to E-town for SLP day. I'll probably just use the cutout at Cecil then. Kaz, when you say mufflers only fridays at the Grove, is no cat and Borla wide open considered a "muffler" or would that be too loud. I'm going to be running it this Friday night. Thanks for the info guys.

I don't know where you are in PA, but don't rule out "Island Dragway" in Great Meadows, NJ..... "the track that time forgot". Since they haven't changed a single thing at the track in the 40 years that I've been going there, I doubt they care about noise. Unless the local sod farmers are upset...

Honey Brook is about 5 min south of Morgantown (Exit 22 on PA Tpke) Island looks a little far for me but maybe I'll get up there to check it out one of these days. I think I'll just test it out at Cecil for now since it sounds like they aren't too tough on their noise restrictions. Thanks

Atco will allow open exhaust on tuesday and friday nights for street cars. Thursday nights are muffled only. If your running with the street cars, i would recommend going on a friday, you wont get many runs in on a tuesday because of all the gamblers.

Hey there Gregg, don't forget about little 'ol Beaver Springs.... lol. I know, anyone in there right mind wouldn't come back here after being to some of the others in the state and afar. I only support it cause it's like 10 minutes from my house and you can get away with just about anything in the tech area. Seriously..... the only thing they checked on my Z last wednesday was if the battery was bolted down......HONEST!! Wednesday night test and tune nights are the best days to get some runs in. Maybe 12 - 18 cars and bikes there at most on wednesdays. Laterzzz

Ran a new best with the ORP in Friday at the Grove of 12.69 @111.37 with a 1.98 60' and that was with the cutout closed. That was also the first time running with the new skinnies and BRG Dr's. I only got two runs in because I got there late and it was packed. First run was a pretty easy launch at 3500 and got a 12.87 @110 with a 2.03 60' which was ok, it beat my previous best of 12.92. Then after cooling down while waiting about an hour to go again I ran the 12.69, I got the slip and I was like that was on a 4500rpm launch. I know I can get the 60' down another 1-2/10 but I still try to leave somewhat easy and not dump the clutch too bad due to the 10bolt. Anyway, just thought I'd share, I can't wait to see what it does at Cecil with the cutout opened up

I ran open cutout at Maple last friday with no problems at all. My car does still have cats though, and the cutout is behind them- so it's loud but not THAT loud. Especially compared to some of the other crap that was running.

Were you the guy I was parked next to in line talking too?? I was talking to a guy before my second run who had a 94 or 95 Z28 that told me he some of his mods were Jet hot LT's and a cutout. I was debating opening my cutout but just decided to leave it closed since I didn't want to get in any trouble that night. My cutout replaces the single cat right after the Y, so it's a little loud

Yeah greg, that sounds like my car- I met a few people that night and had trouble remembering names! My car is a white 95 and I do have Jet Hot's and a Cutout. If you spoke to me and I was pissed about being slow, that was definately me!

Although if your car is the silver in your picture, I don't remember seeing it, so maybe it wasn't me..
