Thumbs up Good Day At The Track

I posted this in the lounge, but I know a lot of you don't go there, so here it is...

I raced the Camaro in the 'street' class yesterday and went all the way to the final. Turns out they didn't run the final because we hit curfew. I got the bye run into the final too!! So, I can't say that I won the race, but I definitely didn't lose.

Racing is so much more fun when you're winning.

Congrats!

I had a good day as well. Finally got the car set up so that I could do decent (and consistent) 60' times (1.557, 1.607, 1.555). The nice thing was the consistency. The sad thing was I didn't get one full pass in where everything went right. I ran out of nitrous on one, missed a shift on another, and short shifted on the first (since initially I just was going to practice 60' and not beat on the motor). Still had my fastest ET to date on the last run (when the nitrous ran out) at 11.41sec. I know that's not up with the big boys yet, but that's not my goal with this car. Just to get it into the 10's and still drive it to the track with a street suspension, full eqipment, etc.

Anyway, it IS nice to win races, so hats off .

The camaro runs 14.50's...not too quick. I was one of the slowest cars in my class (except for the jerk I had to run in a 24 second falcon wagon and I stress JERK). Anyway, I like being the slower car because they always have to catch me.

Congrats to you too for making your fastest pass ever. I don't run up there with the big boys yet either though. Well, when I drive my dad's nova I do...but that's in pieces right now.
