Re: Z06 injectors in a LT1??

According to the Chris Endres "Chevy LS1/LS6 Performance" book, the 2001-03 LS6 injectors (PN 12561462) are the same ones used in the LS1, rated to flow 28.5 #/HR at 58psi. They will flow 24.7 #/HR at the LT1's stock pressure of 43.5psi, making them just a tad smaller than the stock LT1 injectors (programmed 24.9 #/HR).

What fred just said in easiest language =

Yes they will work, but they are a touch SMALLER than your stock injectors. No point in using them. If your current injectors are leaking, then they are simply like a stock replacement. No special parts/regulators to buy.

If you increase your fuel system pressure to 58psi, the Z06 injectors will flow their rated capacity of 28.5#/HR. So would your stock injectors if you increase the pressure to 58psi.

Why do you feel you need new injectors?

Re: Z06 injectors in a LT1??

Well, I bought some of those off ebay to finish off my fuel system that doesn't seem to like holding pressure, to add to my holley afpr and walbro pump. Didn't really feel like playing detective to figure out which component was bad, so I got everything when I could find a good deal. All the components had high mileage anyway, and considering I will be upping the power levels this spring, I figured I would get some stuff that's a little more reliable. But like Injuneer said, if you're getting them just as a performance upgrade, the LT1 injectors will do anything the LS1/LS6s will, but if you're having issues with your injectors, they'd probably do you some good. I guess the LT1 and earlier style injectors are well known for being hard to clean and leaking.

Yes they will work, yes I have used them and they do require a little work to fit properly. The grooves for the retainer clips do not extend all the way around so you need to extend the groove to use the clips ( 5 min with a dremil), other then that they will flow the same as your stock ones. The diference between the two is not enough to cause any problems. They are a great stock repacment for the price ($60-$100). I got mine for free from a friend who works at the Bosch plant and they worked great.

ok... to repeat one more time.... the Z06 injectors will not give you any more fuel than your stock injectors, at any given operating pressure.

Absolutly true, but either with proper tuning and a little bump in FP would probably work just fine if you just are looking for a fresh set.
