Well I kinda had the same thing, but the money paid for my wedding and only got me a new tranny, converter and taillights....

I tried every trick you guys listed and didn't work. Poly's w/ a silicone sandwiched and it worked temporarily. You really want to fix it? Spend 60-70 bucks and buy some solid motor mounts. You won't have this problem ever again.

 

It is probably hitting the brace that runs from the rocker panel to the tranney mount.
I took and cut the sides out of it where the collector passes and bent the bottom up to the floor and rewelded it. Now I got plenty of room. After some grinding,sanding,and paint ya can't hardly tell it. This will give ya 3/4" more clearance.
