you will kno when you get it...there is a flat spot in the pipe on the driver side. and b4 you put it up...hold it up and it will become obvious where it will hit.

p.s. - has anyone running the pacesetter ORY actually used the angle mounting bracket on the pasenger side of the pipe? i cant see where it would even go.

Do people have the same problems with mufflex ORY or is this just a pacesetter thing?

yes I did it goes in the stock exhaust hanger, but you also need to use part of the bracket on the stock y pipe that orginally went into that bracket

Re: y-pipe hits floor when under power

Try loosening the header bolts on the driver's side and have someone under the car pull down on the header to adjust the angle. Then tighten them back up. Other than that, you might need to have an exhaust shop heat the y-pipe and try bending it down a little. I would never weld up the y-pipe because if you ever need to drop the tranny you're screwed. I've actually taken my y-pipe off 3 times already. I just put dual cats into it this weekend.

Re: y-pipe hits floor when under power

i cant believe i never read this thread before. I have this problem too and i plan on fixing it soon. I dont know if my trans mounts need replacing or not but their on the list to check out. My problem is slightly different. You can see the pictures located on the link below of what my y-pipe is hitting. ITs not just the floor pan, but an actual bolt under there that im going to move when i do this.... heres the pictures....

Re: y-pipe hits floor when under power

i know this is an old thread but im still troubleshooting this problem could not "bend" the headers down enough to erraticate the problem and its so dang annoying, i baby the car most of the time now actually just to avoid it i actually know exactly how much load it can take, im starting to think that it may be a bad trans mount not sure, never did a trans mount is it hard i heard it isnt.. i guess i should start there i also had an idea that maybe i could dremel out the area in which the ypipe hits (its not that big of an area at all) what do you guys think

Re: y-pipe hits floor when under power

somehow i managed to get used to it. My engine noise and that rumbling of the y-pipe blend together to make one deep growl so i just tell myself yea my engine is bad *** and look the other way. Trans mounts are easy unless your me and you of course dont get anything the easy way. I had a stripped out hole down there so i had to tap it and all that gay **** but the mount is easy to do. After i replaced it it made no difference in the y-pipe hitting the floor

You guys sure its hitting the floor? Mine is not even close to the floor, but actually is getting bumbed by the torque arm occasionally.

Re: y-pipe hits floor when under power

Mine doesn't vibrate or anything but right when I shift the y-pipe bangs against the floor once when the engine torques over. It only happens when I shift really hard and quick...ie drag racing... so it doesn't really bother me much. I never thought about it being picked up as knock though

Re: y-pipe hits floor when under power

Well I fixed my problem, but I dont suggest you go the route I did. It took totaling the car to fix it, some lady hit me hard enough(More info here Wreck), that it moved everything over. After I fixed the damage(new bumper, new driver front fender, new driver a-arm, new k-member) I havent had the problem since . But really guys I dont suggest doing this to fix a small problem like that. Also before the wreck I had gotten use to it, like the guy above said.
