WTF (a4 issue)

Was under my car today spraying some paint on the welds from my SFC install. And i noticed a black dot on my trans that looked like a hole. So I go for a look, and there it is. Its a small jab or hole almost about the size if you stuck a pencil through a piece of paper.

Its right at the very bottem of the plate that covers the torque converter, infront of the trans pan. I think its called the inspection plate? But it must of happend going over somthin on the road. Well I back the car off the ramps. Let it sit, and warm up. Then check the fluid. Trans fluid was at normal levels.

Is there any fluid contained in that area? I dunno if I should go order a new one. Or just patch it up?

Thanks,
Mike

If it is on the thin, sheet metal cover, you don't have to worry. It is just an access cover to the torque converter/flexplate. Put some JB Weld on it.

That's just to keep dust/dirt off of the flywheel (the cover). You're fine, all the covers have that hole in them.

Thumbs up

It's all ok Mike. I believe the hole is probably a drain hole for water to escape when driving in wet conditions....

Oh yeah. If the hole is right in the bottom, middle, it's supposed to be there.
