WooHoo!! One step closer to finding this miss!
WooHoo!! One step closer to finding this miss!
Okay - so in my last thread, my HC's were off the chart on the emissions test.

Anyway long story short - after lots o searching i did this:
Felt headers, all heated up. #1 was hotter than #7
I've felt a miss and a cold header before, so this was surprising.
Then put screwdriver to injectors 1,3,5,7. all were clicking.
Then pulled injector wire from 7,5,3,1. AND on ONE - the idle stayed the SAME!!!
SOO - I don't know why header 1 is hot, but if it isn't burning fuel at the right time, and unburnt O2 gets to sensors - then pistons 3,5,7 get richened up, which would make those headers cooler than #1. er, right?
Now I'm waiting for engine to cool to pull plug 1 and inspect. If it looks good I'll switch it with 3 and check. If miss is still on piston 1 - that is my question. Would it be bad opti, bad RR adjustment?
Big thanks to Alvin for helping with this. I'll send another data log if this works.
All help is greatly Appreciated - been on and off for 6 months trying to get the bugs worked out of this new engine and install!

Re: WooHoo!! One step closer to finding this miss!
Here is what I did next, and I'm stumped - except it may be valve lash.
Swapped plug 1 and 3: no change (in RPM when pulling injector 1)
Swapped injector 1 and 3: no change
Tested for spark on one: there is spark - so wire and opti are good
So now that I am paying more attention to the left side, I notice a clicking sound coming from under the valve cover. I put a screwdriver on cover and clicking is quite pronounced. I put screwdriver on Right valve cover, and there is NO clicking there. It was perfectly smooth. SO then... what does that mean? Is the RR not adjusted properly?
