witch size stud for rocker arms

I'm geting ready to order some rocker arms but have a view questions. What size is the stud on stock heads for a 95 z28 is it 3/8 or 7/16. and what is the differencs between non-self-aligning and self-aliging rocker arms and witch one would be better.

stock size is a 3/8 people with decent hp numbers usually up grade to 7/16.

i went with non self aligning, becase the guideplates are more security to me than the self aligning ones offer

The stock is 3/8 dont make the same mistake i did though, buy the bigger 7/16 studs and the appropriate rr's also if you plan to but in a bigger cam later get the non sa's and guide plates. If you have a 95 you already have hardend push rods so that will save you some jack.

Not all '95's have hardened pushrods...

Stock rocker arm studs are 3/8".

SA rockers have small guides built in on either side of the roller tip to keep it centered on the valve stem.

NSA rockers have nothing to keep them centered and rely on pushrod guide plates for control.

There has been some recent threads on opinions of each, so you might try a search. IMO, the NSA setup is the more stable.

Guide plates are encouraged as you step up the rocker ratio too.
