Dowel pin length from Cam Sprocket face
Well, first off, are you using a 1994-compatible Cloyes timing set? Or are you upgrading to the 95+ vented opti? If not, I hope you have something figured out with the '94 optispark's driveshaft -- otherwise you wont have an operating ignition system.
You can find the correct 1994 Cloyes timing set (p/n CLO 92-94) at the following link: http://www.moreperformanceinc.com/timgchn.htm --I dont believe it's a double-roller.
According to the following link, the dowel pins should be (.320") for a pre-95 vehicle, and (.685") on a post-95 vehicle, though I've seen this number vary depending on who you ask. Perhaps those are the full dowel pin lengths, and not the distance from the cam face. If you've done a cam swap, you should match the new cam's dowel to the length of the old cam's dowel -- unless upgrading optisparks. http://www.automotiverebuilder.com/ar/ar99928.htm

I'm running a 95+ vented opti setup. The dowel pin exceeds .620 from the cam face. For some reason I'm not getting spark and was just wondering how far the dowel pin should exceed beyond the face of the sprocket. Although I don't think that's my problem.
