wiper malfunction?

The other day I was getting on the interstate and I put my blinker on and all the sudden my wipers came up to the top position and stopped. I thought I'd accidentally turned them on, so I went to turn them off, and they weren't on. So I turned them on and back off and they made a few swipes then came back to the top and stopped. It's like the "return" is backwards. What the heck is going on?

It hard to replace? I was just thinking that I've never even looked at where the motor is located. I'm assuming it's under the cowl, but I have no idea how that huge plastic thing comes off.

God is punishing you for keeping my wheels for so long. But now that I have them back safe and sound, the plague should end soon.

Other than that, I'm not sure what to tell you.

I had the exact same problem happen to me a week ago.
GM sells a Cover kit to fix the problem. Only problem is that the Dealership would not offer refunds if it did not fix the problem for the cover kit. So erring on the side of caution (and an extra 80 bux), i decided to get the whole wiper motor.

The cover kit replaces a part of the actual wiper motor unit which controls the position the wipers are in. (Ie, buy a new motor and it includes the cover kit components)

Fixed my problem perfectly with a new motor.

Thanks for the replies everyone! Matt, this happened after I gave you the wheels back. I guess it's a belated punishment.

So Toby, the new motor was 80.00?
