Windsheild wiper problem

this has been bothering me for a while and I cant figure out how to fix it. My driverside wipe keeps missing a spot on the windshield. The problem I noticed is that the wiper is lifting off the windshield at a point and coming back down. How do I get it to stay on the windshield for the entire wipe?

Thanks

the wiper arms have tension springs to keep them pressed against the windshield. you probably have to replace them.

I'm having this exact same problem. It wipes perfectly for most of the windshield but on the drivers side, when the wipers completly up it loses contact with the lower part. I just got new blades put in, the old blades never did this!

Your new blades are probably just a little too long. That would cuase the wiper assembly to spread out a bit, which in turn would lift either one, or both ends of the wiper off the windshield. If you look at the assembly you can see that it is kind of a spring. If the blade was to long the assembly would be forced to compensate and then screw some things up. Oh, just a guess, but a pretty good one I'd have to say.

When I installed new blades on mine I had to bend and tweak both sides to get total coverage. Now they work great. Just bend a little and test until they wipe the whole field of view. The curvature of the glass causes this problem. I bent the blades not the wiper arms incase there is any confusion. Good luck.
