Window Regulator or Motor???

My drivers side window is almost gone. It only will go down or up for a sec. then i have to wait a few minutes for it to charge up again so i can move it again. Do i have to replace my regulator or the window motor. Also does anybody have the part #'s for the part that i have to replace. Thanks.

window

I just had to have the motor reaplaced in my drivers side also and your problems sound similar to what i had. The part # on my bill says: part--42-150 window motor i don't know if this will help you at all. Good luck in trying to fix it i hope i was helpful to you.

the motor is 53 or so at autozone.. lifetime warranty.. and then you get 20 back on a core charge

Same was happening to me, I did the protection circuit bypass...do a search you should find it...worked like a charm, no problems, nice and fast and doesn't stall out. You take the motor apart and solder a tab together and it's done.

$50 bucks at Autozone it's made my Siemen's I think and they are faster than stock. There are some good "how-to's" posted by Shoebox or somebody on this site that make it real easy to follow. Took me 30 mins for my driver side to completely finish it.

K we all know its your motor. I just changed mine. If it's your motor your gonna need the huge *** rivets form the stealership (unless you can find somewhere else, I just gave up looking) and a huge rivet gun.

No huge rivets needed with the method on my web page. The huge rivets are for the regulator. My method does not remove it.

Sweet Shoe.... I changed the whole thing because when I looked in the rubber or plastic on the rollers was all worn out and I was getting some metal to metal contact. Plus I had a friend in the parts dept so I just went with the whole thing. Wasn't that hard at all.

Oh but dude!!!! make sure you use gloves when your reaching in on that window motor area. I split myself wide open 3 times. It's sharper than a razor in there. I didn't even know I was bleeding. I'm talking go to the emergency room type slices.
