window crank removal

Search = no answers
Have a 1LE (man. windows) and need to replace my window guide. How hard is it to take off the window crank without bitching up the panel and crank. Would Autozone carry a tool for this and are they universal for every make of car? Also, the door panels pop off with a little pressure right? Just held in with those plastic pop pegs? Do you automatically need new pegs when you pop them out, or just if they get messed up? Going to read along in Chilton's when I do it, just mainly worried about the crank tool. Can I ask 14 more questions???
Thanks as always

IF you gently push on the plastic interor door cover and look between the hand crank you can see there is a metal clip that helps to hold in the crank. Just pull the clip out and you will be able to slid the hand crank assembly out.

Get a tool like this to get your crank off. There is also info in my window motor write-up that shows how to remove the door panel. Look on my Tech Page.
