Will this work?

Hello all,
I am new to this site, and I am in urgent need of helpI am thinking of buying a 1993 LT1 shortblock with 800 original miles from a buddy of mine. The only problem I have is that I want to convert this engine to an LT4 by using one of Pace Performance LT4 conversion kits, however these kits are only available for the 1994-1997 model year, is there any reason why this would not work on my LT1 Shortblock?

Thank you very much for your time and any help,
Ralph

Dont hold me to this, but id assume ... The kit is intended for later year cars since they arent the air density design and so theyre easier to mod. Id imagine you SHOULD be ok with it, but call the company up and see whats up with it

The LT4 conversion kit includes the LT4 intake manifold. The fuel rail design on the 94-97 LT1's is the same as the LT4. The fuel rail design on the 93 is different, so the 93 fuel rails will not swap onto the LT4 intake. You would have to buy 94 or later fuel rails, then modifiy your fuel supply line routing and connections to match.

But if all you are buying is a "93 shortblock" you won't have all the required parts to build an engine. Are you planning on somehow combining the 93 shortblock, plus the LT4 conversion kit, plus the balance of the parts required from your existing engine? If so, what year is your existing engine?

Might want to add a "signature" with basic info like year of car, tranny, major mods, to help people answer your questions accurately.
