will the vortech elbow work with slp cai and airfoil?

im trying to decide btw getting the vortech chrome intake elbow and the trick flow ceramic coated one, i like the vortechs look a little better but the fin going down the middle makes me think it wont be compatible with an airfoil (preferably slp airfoil...its the cheapest one), and ive heard that it wont work with cold air intakes? while the trick flow ceramic coated one is a nice one too, and doesnt have that stupid fin going down the middle of it and i havent heard of any problems with mating it to a cai...it just doesnt look as good as the vortech one.

Sooooo, to make a long story short is anyone running a vortech chrome elbow with an airfoil (slp) and an slp cai?

I am running the SLP CAI with the Vortech Elbow and air foil and it was a little work getting the rubber seal over the SLP CAI, but it works great. But, I have a 93 with no MAF. You might have to take some off of the CAI to make it work with your MAF. Hope this helps.

Tuff.

Chevy boy,

I came across the Vortech elbow and I have a 96 LT1. We have a MAF and the elbow will not fit if you have a SLP CAI and Airfoil (which I have). Im not sure about trickflow but the Vortech elbow is way too long and it extends past the MAF. Ask TrickFlow for some spec on it as far as size and dimensions if you can.

Oh yeah, I would just stay with the stock elbow because its a pain in the azz to fit the solid elbow end to the TB and the MAF. When you remove the Elbow you have to bend it in order to fit the MAF end and the TB intake end. Remember the Airfoil sticks out and its hard to fit the elbow in around the TB intake. Ive been in a religious experience with my stupid TB of even fitting just the stock elbow. I have to lube it up a lil bit to slide it on. Stupid thing. I remember doing my TB bypass...lol makes me wish I had tiny fingers and I could tap my heels for such a petty thing. You almost have to climb on the engine to put that stupid elbow thing on.

Ok im done jabbering

looks pretty good too, i think ill prolly go with the trick flow one b/c i dont want to have any clearance issues with the fin and airfoil, plus im trying to stay away from chrome under the hood (its just not my thing) i just thought it would add a nice touch. the ceramic coated intake elbow will match better when i get ceramic coated headers ...thanx guys!
