Newbie to stereo's ??'s
I am starting to begin my stereo project, but I am a little confused. I read here of people using only the front 2 speakers. I need to know if I only use the front 2 speakers and use some nice componets, if I can eliminate the back 2 speakers. I currently have, in waiting, a sub box with 2 JL10w3's. I don't want my bass to overcome the treble. What do you guys reccomend for me. This won't be used for show just personal use. Local shop wanted 2k for 4 speakers, head unit, amp for all speakers, some 700x5 and install. Not paying that for system. Thanks in advance.

Most people use only the front's sue to the imagining. Easiest way to explain... at a concert does the music come from behind or infront of you? I'd say get a nice set of components for the front. Go around and listen to all different brands and pick the ones that you like the sound of, you can ask for suggestions, but YOU have to listen to them every day.
For Bass, The subs are an pretty much limit less thing dependsing on what you want to do. A Stealthbox is very popular because you get to keep your t-top storage if you have tops.
Amplifiers, Well, if you're only going to run the fronts and either 1 or 2 subs I'd say a nice 4 channel will work, but if you want you could go with 2 2 channel ones. One larger one for the sub/s and one for the fronts.
If you want some people do as midbass drivers in the rear, but that's more involved.
Headunits... go pick one.. Personally I'm an Alpine fan, and I know both the Eclipse and Kenwood upper level units are quite nice.
Any further questions??
Oh, and installing most of the stuff is fairly simple...
