Will using 10w40 in my high milage LT1 be ok or no?
I just recently bought it from its second owner. It has 221,xxx miles, but I was told the motor has less miles on it. Second owner told me the first owner replaced/rebuilt the motor but he didnt know when.
I read the carfax and it says nothing about the motor being replaced or rebuilt, so I am going to assume it has 221,xxx miles.
I am going to do an oil change, and I was wondering would using high mileage 10w40 hurt anything? Or should I just use 10w30?
Because I am not sure the exact mileage on the motor, and if it does really have 221,xxx miles it sure runs strong!
