will it hurt to start engine...

without the tranny in the car? just waking up so i havent put much thought into this...lol! putting clutch in it but installed headers while it was down and just want to hear it while waiting on clutch.

i think you might need the flywheel on to balance the motor, isn't it inturnal up front, external out back?

What about the clutch master cylinder? I can't imagine that its good for it to not have any resistance on it.

yeah you're gonnahave to engage the pedal to turn it over unless you trip the safety switch somehow, if you push it all the way down you'll be replacing the slave cylinder assembly.

if you depress the clutch pedal you
destroy the master cylinder

Just pull the connector for the clutch switch off and bypass it with a paper clip.
