Intake manifold HELP! :(!

Okay so I got everything off to fix the intake manifold leak. I am now inside the head bum a bum!

Anyways, when I pulled away the intake manifold a bunch of garbage fell into the lifter valley.

I am afraid of my engine being harmed. So I have posted some pictures, I shop vacced the entire lifter valley.

I want to know if anything looks out of place, dirt ect ect.

I do not want to destroy my engine as I will not be able to afford a new one. And I'll be screwed for at least 6 months.

After the intake manifold has been put back on, how long before the engine can be started? I've heard 24 hours and I've also heard 15 minutes.

When I did my intake leak fix I waited 24 hrs. because I did not wanna do it again. Some say you don't need to but do as you wish. What oil do you use? You may want to fix ALL your leaks and use some syntetic oil, it should help clean it out. I would not worry to much about a LITTLE trash, but change your oil after you run it a few miles. when I say clean it out I don't mean what you dropped in the engine but all the black on your pushrods, valley, lifters and rest of the engine. On a side note, after I did my intake leak my engine lasted to the day one week. I am glad I spun bearings so I could explain to the ole' lady why I *needed* all the goodies in the sig.

yea, i'm fixin mine this weekend, when i pulled off the intake i immediately but a rag in across the lifter valley so i could clean the sides....but THEN i was cutting the pencils up to stick in the holes when i put it back on.....and of all the places a piece of pencil can go flying in my garage...it flys right into the lifter valley and gets wedged in one of the holes that covers the crankshaft! i tried to safe it but it ended up falling farther into the hole and we had to put another pencil under there if RTV on the end to pull it out. i was gonna be F**ked if it fell.
