Will having the MAF sideways hurt any power?

I have a stock unported MAF, but descreened. It turns out I had it sideways the whole time I had my car, so the divider was seperating the top and bottom, not side to side. Do you guys think that would hurt the power at all? It definatly gives it a cleaner look keeping the plug out of the way, but I'll put it back to the stock position if it hurts the power or maf readings at all.

Mine's sideways, too and has been for a long time..I don't think its hurts anything. I made 400rwhp with it sideways...maybe I'll turn it and see what happens ...

It's not hurting any power. It's still only flowing the same amount of air as before. It didn't change anything other then the position.

Re: Will having the MAF sideways hurt any power?

The only reason I'm asking is how the CAI is and how its on an upward angle, so when the air hits the maf more is on the top than on the bottom, and forced to stay on the top-side of the maf causing a restriction, but I'm just speculating, I doubt its hurting anything too...

You probably have a cool swirly thing going on in there. Since the air is split up and down from the MAF and then left and right from the throttle body.
