will bad IAC cause high idle
will bad IAC cause high idle
I converted my 93 motor into a 94, but i used a 93 IAC valve, and just put the 93 IAC connector for the harness on the 94 harness. When i first started my car it would idle high then stall, so i disconnected my battery, then tried again. Now it just idles high around 2k. My driver side 02 is not hooked up because my y-pipe is not on. Could it be that?

YES
I had this problem for quite some time before me and the people on here figured it out. My IAC motor was stuck wide open, it was idling about 1800rpms. But to be sure check the IAC counts with a computer. But to me it sounds like an IAC problem.

Actually I ended up buying a new IAC. When we figured out the problem, i took it out and....yes i know this isnt the right way but it made it work until i got the new one....I put the plunger end lightly in a vice and pulled. It poped right open with a little force. Put it back in and it idled at like 950. Then about a week later I bought a new one.
I only had one problem with my cooling fans. My fuse box only had one realy for some reason for the fans. And I switched to the dual fans. I decided to make things simple and just spliced into the wire for the fan and made it have 2 connectors. And so far so good, no blown relay yet
. I don't think that was the proper way but it seems to be working good so far....and keeping things cool.
Let me know if you have any more questions, I'll try to help if I can.
