wierd banging noise...

Alright, well whenever I accelerate over rough road from a stop I get a slight bang coming from somewhere underneath my shifter. I know it's not my tranny mount because I've had that go on me before. If I'm on smooth road the car accelerates fine and the banging doesn't occur. I checked underneath and nothing is hanging down. What could this be?

no it's NOT the tranny mount. I've had a tranny mount go out before. This is completely different. If it were my tranny mount it would be banging any time i accelerated agressively. This only bangs when i go over rugged road and accelerate, at any speed.

I ll check on the torque arm. I have no idea where it is or what it looks like though.

It is the long bar on the side of the driveshaft, it goes into a rubber bushing on the tailshaft of the trans
