Fouled plug #3 cylinder 2011 ss
Ok. New here so forgive me if im posting in the wrong forum. I have a 2011 Camaro ss with a stage 2 Livernois heads & cam package along with a few other nick nacks here and there. The car ran fine for years and then one day she started sparatically missing during idle and backfiring during light acceleration. I changed all plugs and O2 sensors and she was good for a day or two then started missing again.
Only the #3 plug is covered in black soot. Dry not oily. I changed the coolant temp sensor because it was easy to do and this could have caused the miss and also the the EVAP purge solenoid because it was bad but still fuoling that one plug. No check enging light so I am at a loss. Could this be valve seals or low compression? Please dont let it be low compression .
There is not a shop that i really trust close by in the local area to have a data scan done. They all want me to leave it and I can see the look on their faces when I pull up and they hear the car. Im going to test the hell out of that car after I repair it. And it is too far for me to send car back to MI to have Livernois look at it since they are the only shop that has ever changed so much as a sparkplug on it.
And does anyone know of a reliable shop in MD? Im in the Waldorf area and will travel about an hour to a reputable shop.
Sorry for the long post.
