why would PCM have knock retard with no knock?

Curious... do you have roller rockers? Those will add knock. I'm going to get some rocker "caps" so I can adjust the rockers with the valve covers off. I think I'll throw on some .600 lift springs on their too for my future project...

I have done this before... There is a little of oil splatter but it wasn't anything that I thought I needed to worry with. Heck, I barely had any oil hit my headers. I could just be lucky.

He is right. The lt1s have low oil pressure at idle. And too... oil doesnt start to shoot out unless you loosen the rocker to much.

Thanks for the update. I did mine static cold, but I've got rocker clatter. I'll readjust them next weekend.
