Why is my car going through O2 sensors?
My car is on its 2nd set of brand new O2 sensors. The 1st set were AC Delco's and one of them broke internally (dunno how) so it wasn't heating properly to function and threw a P0135 code. Now the car has a brand new set of Bosch's and they are throwing a lean code (P0171 I believe was the #). So whats the deal?? I had my PCM done by pcmforless and I have dynatech longtube headers with their slip on collectors, and no cats. I changed to this setup about 3-4 months ago. I don't see why my car should be going through O2's in such a short time and as far as I know I don't have any exhaust leaks and if I do they are small. Could it be something with the programming? I've had a few issues with the programming since I changed over but the issues I had had to do with the idle when I pushed in the clutch it would rev to 2000 RPM's but have since had that fixed. Any help is appreciated. I don't enjoy blowing $50 a piece for Bosch's and $75 a piece for AC delco's every 2 months.

Buy only AC/Delco sensors, and get them from Jason Cromer for about $35.
A burned out heater circuit is a distinctly different problem than a "lean" indication. You may have a wiring problem.

I dumped 2 sets in a month due to a diaphram blown out of my fuel pressure regulator. Took the adjustable one off and put a stocker back on. Check the vent line for fuel, if it has fuel in it, replace it.
