Hmn, either theirs something wrong with your tach or you don't have 4.10 gears, theres just no way you can tack that low. heres a calculator for you that shows http://www.f-body.org/gears/ Also if I put my car into 5th gear I'm right around that rpm and my 5th gear ratio is very close to the 4th gear ratio for the auto trans (.74-M6, .70-A4)

My 4.10 equipped car runs 2300 RPM's @ 60 MPH..In 3rd gear..With 26" tall tires.. The car went 12.82 last year with NO engine modifications!..With exhaust manifolds.
I'm certainly glad I didn't waste my time with 3.73's.
The new engine combo is still being tuned, but the car went a 12.69 @ 110 MPH last weekend with the new CC305 and ported heads...With fuel pressure DROPPING 10 PSI at the top of each shift!

i agree...

i have 3.42's and my car is at 2500rpm when i'm doin 75...
one thing though, my tires are 295/35/18's...
if i have my car on jackstands, my car will do 75 at about 2000rpm...so, perhaps he has smaller tires...

4.10's is WAY too if you're using it for everyday driving...but, if it's a track car, go with the 4.10's...

As mentioned earlier, w/ 4.10's you will be shifting to OD which usually isn't a good idea when going for the best et/mph.

thats why you move you shift point up a little and move your rev limiter out of the way mine shifts at 6400 everytime and the limiter is at 6600 never hit it and run good numbers ican mkae the quarter with my 4.10 now like i did with the 3.73

Ive got 4.10's in my auto. I love them on the street, its way too much fun! 4.10 and 3500 stall makes alot of rpm. For a track car you can run any gear ratio that suits your setup. I went to 4.10 from 3.73's and my set up didnt like it. I did but the car didnt. I do not shift into OD in the 1/4 but I'm also turning 6100 rpm thru the traps. On a stock car you probably would go to OD or just run out of power. I also lost some MPH and my 60's got worse... but that my set up. Every car and combo will be different. It seems to be working for Frank, but not me. I will be going back to 3.73's in the 12 bolt.

Oh and @75MPH in 4th with the converter locked I turn almost 3000rpm. No way in hell 4.10's in an auto @75 only turns 2300... something isnt reading right, either the tach or spedo is off. Its just not phisically possible to do that with 4.10's and a 4L60E and 26" tires.

is that just highway driving, or the avg of streets+hwy?

if it's the avg of both, then more power to ya.

if i put 4.10's in my auto, i'd probably lose about 3-5 mpg...and considering i can only use premium, that adds up to quite a bit...
