I saw this on a post on the LS1 boards, I could have sworn gm started rating thier vehicles at rwhp not flywheel hp. I am correct in assuming the LT1 puts 275 down to the wheels on a stock vehicle right? And the LS1 is 300-320 on the wheels depending on the package you get right?

GM rates the HP at the flywheel, not rear wheels.

The figures that you're stating are flywheel numbers and not rear wheel horsepower numbers, although the actual rwhp numbers are close to the stated flywheel numbers, especially with LS1s. GM used conservative flywheel numbers and not rear wheel numbers to give hp figures.

Say a stock 95 camaro with an lt1, whats it getting at the wheels w/ a six speed and steel driveshaft? I know its a roughly 14-16% powerloss with the drivetrain, but any got some real numbers?
