Who is the "MR KNOWLAGE" when it comes to factory stereo units? Monsoon or not?

Alright here is the deal. I have a 97 Trans AM that has a head unit that has the AM/FM and CD along with a 7 band EQ. It has 6 speakers 2+2+2 and now im stumped. No where does it say that it is a monsson system. Now today I was taking out the power antenna and noticed a Delco amp. Im not really sure what to make of it? Is it a monsson or is it just a GM system that happens to have an amp?
The 1993-1996 Firebird had a 10 speaker premium audio system available. It had two speakers per door two in the middle and two on each side in back. The deck powers the front and rear speakers while a seperate amplifier powers the middle sub woofers.
I don't think the monsoon system came out until the LS1 years...
If it helps...I purchased a monsoon head unit from an '00 trans am so I could use the stock 12 Disc Delco Changer in my trans am, and it says Monsoon on it, right above the digital display.

Ok, my question is still not answered. I know there was 2 speakers in the rear hatch, 2 speakers in the rear seating area, and if there is 6 speakers stuffed into the front door panels, well I would be a monkey's Uncle.
So what gives with the amp that I found?

Monsoon came out in 1997 in Camaro and Firebird, any other system in a fIrebird is the premium Delco 10 speaker.
The Monsoon amplifier is about 5 times bigger than the Delco unit and may not say Monsoon on it.
