You can use a lighter/heavier governor

You can adjust the TV cable that goes to the throttle body to change shift points.

They are adjustable to compensate for stretch and you can play around with them a little for shift points also.

too much adjustmant from the tv cables can cause damage after time. I've heard the govenor thing before, how exactly is it changed? Is there a kit? I've never looked at it on the car.
