where to wire fans to???

before i blew a head gasket my fans quit working. Instead of fixing the problem the right way i cut up the factory wiring and wired them to the battery with a switch in the car and a in line fuse. i was wondering what i can wire them to under the hood so at least one will come on when the key is on, and (if is okay to do this??) wire the other one to a swith like how i had them before!
any feeback will be appreciated since i dont want to blow any more head gaskets!

Why don't you try putting the wiring back to stock and changing out the fan relay?

All The Relays Were Good. Does That Mean It Was The Temp Sensor Or Could It Be More Complecated?

Re: where to wire fans to???

There is a solid blue and solid green wire in the connector near the pcm. I beleive the green is the low and the blue is the high speeds. I tapped into them and have a switch w/leds in the dash. Works great!
