Where to place jackstands in the rear?

Where is the best place to put jackstands in the rear. I'm going to remove the rearend for a gear install and also installing BMR lca's, panhard rod bar and torque arm. I have SLP sfc's, so could i place the jackstands on them? Any tips for removing the rear?

I put mine under the frame rails near the forward connection point for LCAs. MAKE SURE CAR CANNOT ROLL ON FRONT TIRES!!!

Disconnect the e brake cables and brake lines first, have something to plug the line with so it doesn't keep dripping fluid.
Disconnect front TQ arm mount, remove tunnel brace.

Loosen (but don't remove yet) connectors for shocks, TQ arm, PHB and LCAs. This way you aren't jerking the assembly around when you get to disconnecting the last few items.

Remove PHB 1st, shocks 2nd (remove springs at this point), LCAs 3rd, and TQ arm last. You can wait to remove TQ arm until it is on the ground if you like, may be easier.

Axle doesn't balance well on a jack, be careful. Helps to have someone there to help with this.

Are you saying you are removing the entire rear axle assembly for a gear swap?

If so, use my online procedure for a Strange 12-bolt install.... it will cover most of the issues you will run into. For example, it is possible to do the swap without opening up the brake lines.

Yeah, I figured i might as well, because i'm installing all the BMR stuff. While a friend of mine is doing the gear swap, i will install the lca's and panhard bar and have it all ready to go. Probably more work than needed, but i've pulled rears out of other cars before, was never a big deal really. Thanks for the info, great help!

That doesn't really work. To remove the rear, you have to have the LCA's, Panhard, and torque arm (as well as some other stuff) off. So you can't exacly install those parts while your friend is off working on the gears with the rear end out of the car. I think I'd leave the rear where it normally is, and install the suspension and gears as one normally would.
