When do you need an aftermarket fuel pump?
When do you need an aftermarket fuel pump?
I'm thinking about going with an LE1 package, and with it upgraded injectors and throttle body. I did a few searches, but I could not find a complete answer. So, does anyone know when the stock pump becomes a limiting factor for the necessary amount of fuel?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: When do you need an aftermarket fuel pump?
Normally anytime you add nitrous or any kind of forced induction whether its a turbo setup or supercharger, or when you do more advanced work to the engine e.g. 355, 383 etc. Theres many guys that run the hotcam kits making around 375-400hp an still using the stock fuel setup with the exception of bigger injectors. Theres people that run dry nitrous setups with stock fuel pumps, but i wouldnt want to take the risk of it running lean on you because that usually ends up costly.
