When do you lockup your TC?
When do you lockup your TC?
I was wondering if you can lock it up and drive around in traffic with it like this and then unlock it when you go racing? So you can run a big stall without having to deal with the high stall effects in traffic.
Thanks

I'm not sure if you can use a lockup switch in a 4l60e like you can with other tranny's.
I have a 3200 stall and stop and go traffic isn't a problem. How high of a stall are you looking to go with?

I was planning on building a stout 383 and was trying to decide if to put a manual or an auto behind it. I was thinking somewhere in the 3600-4400 stall range. I wanted to run as much stall as possible without have the ill effects of it.
If you're going that stout have you thought about looking into a turbo 350 or 400?
Of course the downside is not only weight, a little more power loss, expensive quality torque converters and a very expensive OD.
As I'm sure you know T56 swap would probably be more economical and, with a good clutch, could probably handle as much as you're going to want throw at it.
You're in the same boat as I am.....still undecided on which route I'm going to go with my tranny (which is on its last legs).
