wires plugs opti are all new now, coil checks out good. Valve adjustment is good, I have 5/8 preload

I do not think it is anything mechanical, it has to be an electronic problem or a sensor or somethign.....

Still have not logged it...... I do not have the cable for this car and having a hard time trying to get it.

May have found the problem....

could the spees sensor have been making the converter lock up when it shifted into 3rd?

I fixed the knock sensor tried it...same thing

unplugged the speed sensor and it seems to not do it now....

Sure could. Poor programming could also be the issue (seen it before). I would think you'd see a problem on the speedo though if something was wrong with the sensor.

Try disconnecting the knock sensor wire and series it to a 4k/.25 watt resistor to gound.
It will bypass the knock sensor in the computer. (This will rule out the timing retard).

I did that with a 3.9k

drove it today, ran the exact same time and exact......265 3 passes in a row like is has a governer on it. I'm done working on it...I do engines not tuning. I think its a tuning problem....the motor didn't blow up so its someone elses turn to work on it.

Personally I think it was always in the tune, the person I had tune it gives me BS excuses, will not return calls or emails.....I recomend never using them and only deal locally. That way you don't get ****ed so bad..... pretty much I just wasted that money and he is in no way willing to help or stand behind what he does.
