Voltage Drop

I posted a while back about a bouncing volt meter when I was at a stand still. People said either alternator or bad ground. It's not the alternator, haven't checked ground yet. Now it has gotten worse. When I give it a good amount of throttle and I'm accelerating, the volt meter drops to the red zone and my lights all dim and the MPH needle bounces. So what could cause that. I have error 26, 27, and 29 before anyone asks about those.

Why do you say it is not the alternator? What have you done to prove it is not?

Autozone tested it, said alternator was good and battery was good, but starter was giving low voltages in the 9-10v range.

Sounds like wiring to me. Check those 2 grounds first but there are 2 ignition feeds and 2 batt feeds.

where are the two ignition feeds? and the two battery ones? I checkd the ground the was by the right strut tower and haven't gotten around to checking the ground on the motor mount.

See that post from a guy named Shoebox? He hardly shows up here and help anyone (JK) but he just happened to make a website based on your model of car. go to it and look up the PCM information.

I found the battery cable diagrams and the ground on the block, but I can't find any others.

Fix what you know before looking further

You know you have these problems. Fix them first before looking for other issues. The 26 and 27 are probably the same #6 10amp fuse U/H. check it.
While you're there, check fuse #7 and if it's ok, check the air pump relay with regard to the DTC29.

What does it mean when you said the starter is giving low voltages, 9-10 volts. Do you mean it draws down the battery voltage to that level? If so, check it against another known good battery. If it does the same thing, the starter is defective as long as you have a battery with enough reserve capacity.

What does the starter have to do with the voltage going low or lights dimming while the engine is running?????

Power connections you should be looking for is at the battery obviously, the clusters on the passenger fender, the side of the block near the AC compressor, the ground above the starter, the ground strap at the frame to the head near the coil, the 2 ground points at the radiator support and be sure the ground point of the alternator is clean and the power wire is connected properly.

I don't know what he meant by the starter is showing 9v. The lights dimming while the volt meter reads low has nothing to do with starter.
