I just pulled this code on my '97 LT1. Can't see any reference to this in my CHilton's manual. Can anyone shed light on this new code?

 

P1509 Idle Air Control (IAC) system high RPM
...from the complete list of f-body codes posted on my Tech Page (and linked in my sig).

It basically means the PCM does not think your IAC is having any effect. Try clearing the code and see if it returns.

My car has also been throwing this code over the last week.

Will the position of the Idle adjustment screw on the throttle body have any effect on this code?

After removing the flash from the inside of my Throttle body Idle air ports (aftermarket) about 2 months ago. She idled roughly for a while, went for a short drive and the idle never leveled out or stabilized sometimes even dieing out. Running low on time I made a few turns on the idle screw to get the idle to smooth out and me where I needed to go. Now when I have the A/C wide open I get a rise and fall at idle.
