I think you mean the LT4 knock module.

It is a small "filter" chip in the PCM that intercepts the noise signal from the knock sensor, and filters out noise that is associated with things like roller rockers. Helps prevent the PCM from interpreting that noise as "knock" and pulling timing to eliminate the knock.

The LT4 KM doesn't pick up as much false knock as the factory LT1 module. This makes it so the timing won't go out of whack due to false knock.

everyone has the for the reason that injuneer said. if you upgrade to louder internals like roller rockers or sometimes even aftermarket exhaust and headers can cause enough noise and be interpreted as "false knock" and the pcm will retard the timing. the lt4 knock module eliminates this false knock.

well it only costs about 30 bucks so it's worth buying anyway. what headers to get depends a lot on what you plan to do in the future, like lowering or doing 383 or whatever.

you could check ebay but all of the LT4 KMs are 40 bucks plus shipping right now (i just checked for my buddy earlier today). i wouldn't pay more than 35 bucks plus shipping for one. if ur curious about headers then y don't u make a post about them, or try searching old posts 'cuz i'm sure there's hundreds.

I put one in mine and it it knocked terribly. Under part throttle with no load it rattled like marbles in a coffee can. I put the stock one back in and its good as new.
