i do have remote start. What is a valet switch and what does it do?

it looks like a valet switch to me they are used to turn on and off a car alarm and quite possibly be the same for a remote starter. thats just my guess.

Valet switch is supposed to be for when you let valet park your car. It basically just disables your alarm system till you turn it back on. My valet switch is under my hood, but looks more like a light switch, and actually says, "ON" and "OFF", mine is a Clifford Alarm System though. I leave it on Valet 99% of the time caus I leave my car parked in my garage, and hate the alarm going off for absolutely no reason late @ night. [Has only happened once, but that was enough for me, and my neighbors.....]

It could be a starter re-enable switch. Some alarms have the valet switch separate. It would be the switch you press if the alarm is set off, and you're trying to drive the car afterwards.
