Whats a good Neutral Rev?

After my rebuild, i find my car "tugs" at me when i am at a light or in traffic. I tend often to shift into Neutral or Park to give me foot a break. It looks like after my car warms up, in the drive gear it is usually around 900-1000 rpms during idle.

Is that too much, or should i lower it a little?

well the stock idle should be around there, but when in drive i think it is suppose to lower a little so you don't have that prolem, not positive though since i have a m6

No... that's not the stock idle speed for an A4. The stock idle speed for an A4 is 550rpm in drive and 650rpm in neutral. The stock idle speed for the M6 is 800rpm. Allow for the fact that the stock tach reads 100-200rpm high, and you will see 900-1000rpm in an M6, but not in an A4.

Since he has the HOT cam, he must have had it tuned. What did the tuner set the idle RPM at?
