Whats everyones MPG for their LT1's?
are you sure? I would think the LT1 would have better mpg's cause peak tq hits so early so you shouldn't have to rev it as high when just puttin' around
ditch the manifolds for some headers, ditch the chokemaster exhaust, and ditch the 58mm TB edit:woops sorry thought I read 58mm in your sig!
Re: Whats everyones MPG for their LT1's?
I know my car isn't a Camaro but my '72 Vega with a '93 LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31 posi averages 19 mixed mileage. That was with points ignition, an out-of-tune Edelbrock 1406, what appears to be a pretty nasty vacuum leak, and no hood or front valance. My engine has zero accessories on it other than an alternator. No power steering or air conditioning. I'm hoping with the fuel injection, a tune, the hood on and the front valance reinstalled to be in the area of 25 miles per gallon highway. I mean, it shouldn't be a problem. My car only weighs 2500 pounds.
Re: Whats everyones MPG for their LT1's?
Best I ever got was going to Memphis 97, 28mpg doing about 75mph. Mods at the time were 4.10 gears, 1LE driveshaft, K&N, and 160 t-stat. I did have a HPP+ but only to correct the speedo. Used to average 21-22mpg in mixed driving.
Its about 20mpg average with the crap gas we have now. HOT cam, SLP dual cat headers, Borla/SLP cat back, 1.6 rockers, and above mods. I did manage about 25mpg a couple years ago coming from VA to MS. That was before ethanol though.

This debate will be the deciding factor whether I go 383 or not. I have heard some get 25mpg highway. If that's so would be nice to know the combo they used as that's GREAT.
I'm sure I could build a 355 LE1 and get 25+ but who knows.
