Whats everyones MPG for their LT1's?

And your Mods. I'm trying to figure out the mods for best mileage for Lt1s Cause I'm about to get one and I want to see what I'm gonna get myself into lol.

My 3.4L I think I get something like 22mpg in the city and I spend at least 40-50 bucks for gas a week.

Wild1 03-15-2008 12:24 AM

I've got lots of mods but I average about 16 for both city and highway mixed. If I go straight highway, I can get about 20.

Wow man...Thats alot of mods. But Lt1's stock get like 18-20 mpgs right?

Wild1 03-15-2008 12:41 AM

Easy. When mine was stock I'd get up to 24 on the highway to Vegas. City was about 18.

ssbowtie1 03-15-2008 12:48 AM

In the city I drive very short trips. Turn on, warm up for 2-3 mins, drive 1-2 miles, off, etc etc. Doing this I usually average ~11-12mpg. Freeway driving from San Diego to LA (decent amount of hills) with cruise control on and averaging 75-80mph, I'll get 24-25mpg. I'd imagine it would be a bit better if I kept my speed around 70-75mph.

Mods in sig.

Z95m6 03-15-2008 12:50 AM

My car bone stock would do damn near 30mpg all highway driving with the 6 spd. I think the car would avg near 20mpg city. Now with the heads and cam, I get about 15-25mpg. The 25 is all highway.

monkeyoflove 03-15-2008 12:55 AM

17.75 mpg with an a4 car; 3.23 rear mostly highway.

fresh rebuild Crane 227 cam, Crane 1.6 roller rockers, K&N FIPK, Hooker muffler, NO TUNE YET.

Wow, let me just say that you guys are lucky...

I'm not even in the double digits, ha. I currently get 6 miles per gallon in the city and 10 miles per gallon on the highway while shifting at 2,000 RPMs at most... And I still have to fill up every other day.

My mods include:

- Racing injectors
- Fuel pressure regulator
- 3:73 gears
- Tune
- Straight pipes after the cats (I'm sure this really kills the M.P.G. :D)

Note: I only included the mods that have dramastically affected my M.P.G. I'm sure there's more but I'm to tired to think of them all.

Red93Camaro 03-15-2008 01:23 AM

6 MPG!?!?!? wow...

There's definitely something wrong with your car if those are your only mods.

speed_demon24 03-15-2008 01:32 AM

~15 mixed with me not keeping my foot out of it. I have no doubt it would get >25mpg on a highway trip.

Straight pipes after the cat would have no effect on mileage. Did you get a tune after your "racing injectors"? what size are you're injectors?

rbaksi 03-15-2008 02:16 AM

I recently got 31 on my highway trip

Just a 160 thermo and Flowmaster exhaust, not modded much at all

I'll get maybe 16-17 in city though

RedScreaminMachine 03-15-2008 04:50 AM

Didn't get mine for gas mileage

2000GTP 03-15-2008 08:24 AM

Mine has pulled around 17-20mpg around town. As stated above though, I didn't by mine with the intent of pulling good miles per gallon either.
