whats the best way 2 remove a lt1 motor in a 94 camaro

Im sure there is a reason, but why cant you just leave the wheels on and use a jack for the tranny to roll it out? is it too much weight in the middle without support or will it just drag the pan?

You can leave the wheels on but that means you have to raise the car higher to get everything out. If you are doing this on jackstands, you will not be able to leave the wheels on.

Wheels being off gets the K-member closer to the ground.

I have done this

you need to put a block of wood between the lower control arm and the k member(keeps the crossmember high), and use a strap to keep the tops of the shocks from splaying out, but it works fine

hardest part is getting the last bolts out with the wheels on, I ended up setting the whole thing on jack stands, then lowering it off them once the body was out of the way

I'll see if i have a pic from one I did like this
