I think the consensus is that coming out the bottom is easier. However, it can be pulled from the top as well.

Either method, but the bottom looks like the easiest way of going about it. There have been some good posts about this in the past with pictures and details of how it was done, it may be worth a "search".

I did mine from the top with the tranny attached.I used the happy hooker from TPIS. Was not really any worse that any other motor swap I have done . Just more time consuming as it is always so much "fun" to work under the hood on these cars.

Out the bottom is the way to go. You can have everything assembled, (engine can be complete from intake to oil pan with the tranny allready attached and you can even have the headers on the engine).

pulled mine out the bottom in around 3hrs.... id say the bottom is the only way to go. its bad enough doing small stuff under the hood killing your knees..

I've done both ways. The only realy benefit of out the bottom is the motor goes back in with everything on it already.

You might want to read the caution "sticked" at the top of the forum ("TTT") about pushing posts to the top more frequently than once in 24 hours. It isn't reasonable to demand an answer in 45 minutes.

I always take mine out of the top....I have no emmisions or hvac, I got it out a few weeks ago in 45 min to an hour. If you have all the other stuff in there I would go out the bottom.

I have helped people do it that way on street cars and it is way easier.

I dropped mine back in today, we got it in only took 10 min. but now I have to put everything else on, headers radiator and suck. I don't have any happy hooker so I always take my intake off

I havn't done it YET, but there have been times I've been tempted to drop the engine out the bottom for things like spark plugs and header gaskets lol

Bottom piece o cake.

But instead of using a moving dolly under the k-member use an ATV jack and put the fllor jack under thetranny. It will just lower right down.
