What's the average life of a lt-1 fuel pump?

What's the average life of a lt-1 fuel pump?

Just wondering, mine is orginal 1994 with 166K. No problems yet!

took my pump 68-70k till it showed signs of crappyness. I am sure, however, they will last well into the 100k's.

177K miles (284,000 kms) on mine.

Will replace regardless this spring with a Walboro intank from Racetronix.

mine only lasted 58k miles. I switched to the walbro 255 lph one with the booster harness.

mine lasted to about 90K and 7 years.

Mine lasted till 58,000 and then took a dump. Then at 65 the waterpump went byebye.

Thanks for the replies. I've seen people upgrade their fuel lines, 6&8 AN to 8&10 AN, I believe? Is this necessary on an engine that will never really go above 500Hp? Also, AFPR, I've read that they are wasted money, because the CPU will reset the fuel pressure after the first pass? Thanks.

What kills the fuel pumps is heat. What produces heat is running the car low on gas. Keep your tank full and it should last you a long time.

#1 killer is rust contamination from an aging rotting gas tank or bad pump gas
#2 moisture causing the pump to seize (long winter w/water in the gas)
#3 worn motor brushes
#4 burnt wiring connection (common on LT1 pumps)
#5 running the pump dry

A top 10 list is more exciting but we could only come up with 5

mine lasted about 110k and then i got myself a nice walbro 255 pump.
