What should I do next!

I just got my e-cutout installed, cutting 2 tenths off the 1/4 and gaining 2 mph on my trap. My best slip from last night is:

60' - 2.320
1/8 et - 9.461 @ 77.17
1/4 et - 14.481 @ 98.48

My ultimate goal is just to get into the 13's, so I need to cut 5 tenths somehow. The track here isn't great, so I'm feathering the throttle even with my 2.73's! Considering traction is a major issue, should I get 3.73's and pray that I can get a good launch? Or go with headers and try to cut some time off with top-end? It's unlikely that I'll get anything but better street tires. (so no drag radials or et streets!)

Well if some dr's for you would be the first thing i would recommend if you wanna get you et's down. Your 60' is bad. If you could get that down to a 2.1 you would probably hit the high 13's. If you get 3.73's it is just gonna be harder for you to launch the car. So if dr's are out then i would suggest some headers. You will probably spin a bit more off the line still but you will move faster once you get going.

I'm thinking better street tires may cut a tenth, but will headers cut the 4 tenths I need? Also, I read somewhere that midlengths are comparable to longtubes, and have less risk of scraping the ground. Which ones would you recommend?

Easiest way to cut 4 tenths is with a good stall converter if you don't already have one. Vigilante is an awesome converter, but you are going to pay for it.

What he said. On a heavy vert a converter is going to do awesome things for you.

A good stall would work great, but I think you need to get all your "first off" mods done. Especially headers, and once you get headers, get a real good flowing exhaust. Once I dumped my Flowmaster 80's series exhaust for True Dual Dynomax Bullets...man oh man, I wish I would have done it a long time ago. Although that isn't really the case for you, since you have the cutout. So in my opinion, I think you should do headers, and the cutout you already have will compliment good with them.

I would think with an auto a converter would be the best idea, my 6spd vert hit 13.5 with headers and new exhaust tho.
