What year starters fit what year Lt1's

I need a new starter and i'm looking on eBay and around here. Basically i just need to know what year starter for my car. I have a 94 car and 94 wiring, but a 95 engine. I saw some auctions on eBay and it says the starter was for a 93 - 94 car and then another auction for a 95 - 97 car. Will an Ls1 starter fit? i don't think the v6 starters are the same, they mount on the other side of the motor if i'm not mistaken. any help would be great.
thanks

There are 2 starters one for the 93-94 and the other for 95-97. The difference between the 2 is the starter nose and bolt length differene, so if the right bolts are used with the right starter it will work. The LS1 and V6 starters wont fit.

well that makes this seem even worse now. My car is such a Frankenstein!! I've got a front clip from a '00 Ws6, a T56 from a 94, the frame is a 94, the interior is from a 95, a 383 with a block and heads built from a 94, but it's got all the 95 opti stuff, 95 computer, with a 94 engine harness.... BUT, i have NO idea what year starter bolts i saved. I know the starter in there now is from a 94 t/a that i had for parts. It's HORRIBLY heat soaked cuz of my headers (i now have a starter blanket, but it's too late for that starter) my old starter which was a 95, also became heat soaked. I had another 94 starter that i put in a month or so ago from another parts car i acquired, but the nose completely broke off of it when i was trying to start the car and i couldn't understand why... this may shed a little light on things 'bolt lenth'.
I don't know if i should be using a 94 or 95 starter, what would be the difference in the shape of the nose? This is crazy... why wouldn't GM just use the same starter from 93 - 97??? oh oh... let's just make things harder for people to fix (must be what they were thinking)

I just got the Jegs starter http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...94&prmenbr=361
it is lighter, has more cranking power and fits fine. It comes with the bolts, so there are no issues there.
